We work in conjunction with cruise operators of all sizes to supply a complete streamlined package and will represent your company and brand from ship to shore, providing operational planning, full liaison with vessels, airline and airport operators, Port authorities, stevedoring and transfer operators to provide everything that is needed whilst in dock in Portsmouth.

Meet and Greet
At SMS we understand that our service is critical to cementing your passengers’ positive and happy memories of their cruise experience. That is why we have a carefully chosen and experienced customer handling team in place to provide an informative and professional meet and greet service to your passengers on your behalf.

So whether we are meeting international passengers who are arriving in Portsmouth for the first time or greeting national passengers as they arrive with us to embark on their journey, you can be assured that they will receive a warm and friendly welcome from efficient and well trained staff.

Baggage Handling
We provide a comprehensive baggage handling service to your customers using our specialist eco-friendly plant and equipment. Our experienced baggage handlers will ensure that luggage is transported safely and expediently whether it is to the ship for embarking passengers or to a clearly laid out baggage hall where disembarking passengers can collect their luggage before proceeding to Border Controls.

Passenger Check-in
We operate our own fully equipped passenger check-in facility in the passenger terminal. This enables our check-in team to work closely with cruise operator representatives to provide a quick, courteous and professional check-in service. Our comprehensive service covers everything from Passport and Visa checking through to keeping passengers informed of arrival and boarding information through the Port tannoy system.

We can also offer you the ability to brand our check-in facility in your own company livery as well as being able to distribute literature and information relating to your own specific services and products.

Passenger Registration
Our priority is to ensure the safety of our customers and passengers at all times and compliance with The Merchant Shipping (Counting and Registration of Persons on Board Passenger Ships) Regulations 1999 is a vital part of this process.

Our systems and highly trained personnel ensure we conform to our duties under the Regulations and enable us to compile and submit all relevant information directly to each cruise ship prior to sailing.

Porterage
We offer a Porterage service at the start or end of the journey allowing us to provide support to any passenger who needs it either through access to one of the large number of baggage trolleys at our disposal or our own wheelchairs and trained wheelchair assistants.

This service is not limited to guests with mobility issues; we extend this facility to anyone who needs assistance whether that is passengers travelling with young children, carrying oversized items or those travelling with a lot of luggage.

Stores & Baggage Loading
Using our own forks, telehandlers, platforms, cages and conveyors we receive and load cruise inventory, hotel, food and beverage stores on to disembarking ships in addition to loading and unloading passenger baggage.

Valet Car Parking
In partnership with our sister company, CPS Ltd, we offer a comprehensive valet car parking service to our cruise customers. Please click on this link for more information

Transfers
We can arrange for your guests to be transferred to and from their destination whether this is from the ship to shore, hotel to airport or to and from home and the Port of Portsmouth.

Training
All our workers, whether permanent or supplementary, are assessed or trained by our group in-house ITSSAR qualified instructors. We are currently seeking Category 2 status with ITSSAR which would enable us to offer a training service to our customers.
